If you or someone you know is looking for free dental care in Cripple Creek, the 2026 Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) Dental Clinic is coming to Cripple Creek this September. This free community event provides essential dental services for individuals who may not otherwise have access to care.

To help streamline the process, COMOM is also offering Early Dental Evaluations before the clinic begins. Here's everything you need to know before attending.

What Is the Colorado Mission of Mercy?

The Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) is a volunteer-driven program that provides free dental care to individuals in need. Volunteer dentists, hygienists, assistants, and community members work together to improve access to essential dental services across Colorado.

Early Dental Evaluations

Patients have the option to attend an Early Dental Evaluation before the clinic officially begins.

Thursday, September 24, 20264:00 PM – 7:00 PM

During the evaluation:

• You'll be seen by a dentist.

• Your dental needs will be evaluated.

• A treatment plan will be created.

• You'll return on Friday or Saturday for your scheduled treatment.

Having a treatment plan in advance helps make the treatment process more efficient once the clinic opens.

Free Dental Clinic

The main dental clinic will take place:

Clinic doors open at 6:00 AM each day and remain open until the clinic reaches capacity.

Because the clinic often fills early, arriving as early as possible is encouraged. No appointments are accepted, and all patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who Can Attend?

Anyone in need of dental care is welcome to attend.

Dental Services Available

The clinic provides a variety of free dental services, including:

• Fillings

• Extractions

• Root canal treatment (non-molars)

• Dental cleanings

• Children's dentistry

Limited services may also include:

• Crowns

• Flippers

• Dentures (Friday only)

Services That Are Not Provided

To help patients prepare, COMOM also notes that some procedures are not available, including:

• Wisdom tooth extractions

• Root canal treatment for molars

• Dental implants

• Extractions for patients taking certain blood thinner or osteoporosis medications

What Should You Bring?

To make your visit more comfortable, COMOM recommends bringing:

• A list of your medications

• Books, magazines, or puzzles to help pass the time

• Snacks and water

What to Expect During Your Visit

Patients are treated on a first-come, first-served basis. After your evaluation, the dental team will focus on your highest-priority dental need first. If time and volunteer staff are available, additional treatment may also be provided.

Because this is a large community clinic, wait times may be long. During your visit, you'll also receive guidance on caring for your teeth, and you'll be asked to complete a brief exit interview about your experience.

Important Health Information

All patients will receive a blood pressure screening before treatment. Patients with diabetes may also receive a blood glucose screening.

Individuals whose blood pressure or blood glucose levels are too high may not be able to receive treatment during the clinic.

Children Are Welcome

Children and infants are welcome to receive dental care. If a parent or guardian is receiving treatment, another responsible adult must remain with any children brought to the clinic.
