SERVICES / PROGRAMS

To receive most services provided by the Teller Senior Coalition, it is necessary to be at least 60 years old and fill out an application form. See link to forms.

TRANSPORTATION

Teller Senior Coalition provides transportation to seniors over 60 and low-income disabled citizens who need essential travel assistance to local doctors, pharmacy, grocery shopping, bank and post office. Travel is available Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. To sign up for the service call TSC at 687-3330 to obtain an application. Once you’ve signed up, you may call our Transit line (687-0256) to make transportation reservations. Since this is not an on-call service, reservations must be made well in advance, especially for medical appointments. (Transportation is funded by the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging, Teller County and through a Community Service Block Grant.)

GOLDEN CIRCLE MEAL PROGRAM

The Teller Senior Coalition in conjunction with the Golden Circle Meal Program offers a hot lunch weekdays at the Senior Center in Woodland Park. The suggested donation is $2.00 for Golden Circle members and $4.50 for non-members and guests. To join Golden Circle you must be at least 60 years or older and fill out a registration form at the Woodland Park Senior Center. Registration is free. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:45 AM. To be sure a meal is reserved, please call 687-3877 at least 24 hours in advance.

RURAL AREA MEAL PROGRAM (RAMP)

Assorted frozen and shelf-stable meals are available for delivery to homebound seniors. For more information call the TSC Office at 687-3330.

ENSURE/GLUCERNA PROGRAM

The Teller Senior Coalition, with a Community Investment Fund grant from the City of Woodland Park has implemented a program to provide Teller County seniors with Ensure or Glucerna (for those with diabetes) at a considerable discount and delivered to the home. Call 687-3330 to place an order, for a free sample or for more information.

MATERIAL AID

Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging provides grant monies for materials to make seniors’ homes safer and healthier. TSC works with volunteer handymen in the local area to install these materials. You must be 60 years or older to qualify. There is no charge for this service, but a donation of at least ten percent of the materials cost is requested. Call the TSC office at 687-3330 to register for this NON-EMERGENCY service.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT – RESPITE/COUNSELING<

The Teller Senior Coalition provides respite services for caregivers who are caring for a family member age 60 or older. Individual counseling and help with care-giving relief is available for the primary caregiver. If care-giving is becoming overwhelming or a challenge for you, or if you know a caregiver who needs a little time out from giving care, call the TSC office at 687-3330 and ask about our Respite program.

DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM

The Teller Senior Coalition loans basic medical equipment to Teller County seniors who may need some temporary help with mobility. Selection varies. Please call 687-3330 for availability.
